Exact Engineering have built up a solid reputation making dual-mass flywheels solid again. This is a highly specialised service, utilising all the skills and equipment of a precision engineering workshop, and saves countless hours of off-road "down-time" and money for all those motorist unfortunate enough to own a vechicle that has shreded its Dual-Mass Flywheel into smitheerens - perhaps not for the first, or second time!
Exact's Floating Flywheel Fixation Process
Disassembly
Machine-facing on Lathe of both internal faces of flywheel.
Vertical Drilling and Tapping to add flush-finished counter-sunk high-tensile bolts.
Manufacture of the required number of bespoke shims with characteristics specific to the precise dimensions of each individual flywheel.
Re-assembly - using thread engagement compound to ensure optimum durability.
Balancing of completed single-mass unit to eliminate vibration and ensure flywheel is fit for purpose.
From start to finish this process takes between 6-12 hours of precision engineering and costs from £200 -, depending on the complexity of the model of flywheel.
